Ashutosh Gowariker, Swades, we the people (India – 2004)

Another movie with star actor Shahrukh Khan. The social themes in Bollywood movies are predominant and certainly are in Swades, we the people. It is actually why I like Indian cinema, words like emancipation, unemployment, poverty, injustice and a plot advocating brotherhood, education and patriotism are very common. It gives Bollywood a touch of moral superiority that Hollywood can’t reach for.
